For me, the most satisfying thing is photographing the things that are important to me. I have been trying to figure out why I choose the subject matter that I do. I have no answer. I like it. I shoot it. My aim is to make people see the beauty in things that I do.

The old, used, and worn appeal to me. Some of the greatest joys in my life are pawing through second hand stores and garage sales. I like clever and quirky gadgets and images of the past, out of date fashion, the once chic or hip but now sadly obsolete, architectural style from not so long ago. With my photos, I hope to capture the beauty in all these things that was once so obvious but is now fading from mainstream favor.

Dark bars and punk rock. It has been my experience that these two things go together. I have known them as my home and family. My photos have only begun to explore what I feel for these people and places.

I look at bowling alleys as a reference point from our past. Even though their role in a modern mainstream world has been handed a backseat, bowling alleys are a normal fixture in our community. They are monolithic palaces that stand as a monument to a great sport and a home to a wealth of whimsical images.
